Hello everyone,
A gentle reminder that tonight I am hosting a pre-course Zoom Check in discussion around my upcoming Traditional "Plukkebånd" course.
We will meet at 21:00 (9:00 pm) Central European summertime and I will open our virtual classroom at 20:50 (8:50 pm).
In addition to providing information, this will be a sort of Q&A to answer any wonders or questions one might have around the course; course materials etc.
As this is a public post, one must email me directly to request the link and password to join in.
I have been away in the city getting my second vaccination today.
I hope that everyone that requested to join, has now received the information.
Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if needed or leave your thoughts below in the comments. I will get back to you!
Velkommen! Be welcome!
The photograph above is of a beautiful, historic woven band pattern found within the Trøndelag museum in Trondheim - woven in the late 1890s. It was woven by Ana Elisabeth Lie's tante (aunt) in celebration of her confirmation. It was so cheerful to read that she lived very close to my own village! I was so fortunate to examine and peruse the entire museum collection during my study.
I made some polish for my loom with beeswax and olive oil. Thanks to Patricia for explaining that!
Hi Patricia - I got my Ashford samplelt loom today and am watching some you-tube videos about "unpacking an ashford loom" (really good for us newbies) .... the loom comes with a 7.5 heddle/I also ordered/received the 60/10 heddle. Which one will we start with (do I need a different one to start with)? thanks Maryjo
I couldn’t join sadly as was visiting my friend who has leant me her knitters loom …. Was there anything shared I missed?
Hi!! Is there a link? I cannot seem to get in with the link for 8/19. Thank you!!
Sob 😅 I probably won’t make this zoom due to an eye exam appt so hoping some very kind soul again might post a few notes. I’ve signed up for the course, ordered a Samplelt loom with an extra 60/10 heddle, cotton carpet yarn and some beeswax … pls let me know if there is anything else I might need to get started! Thx so much! And the start date?
