Greetings from the farm,
I took what might be my last walk down to Selbu lake for this year - 2022.
As I walked, I was thinking back to New Year's Eve 1999.
I was a new mum. Emma Grace was 9 months old.
At the time, I couldn't imagine a world, or a time, when it would be 2023, and yet, here we are!
Emma Grace will be 24 years old.
So many changes and phases have transpired in my life since the year 2000.
It is simply impossible to fathom.
But, this lake, this land...so rich in history and tradition....to me, looks just the same.
It has remained, a constant.
It is always here, a place of quiet refuge, and seasonal beauty.
I have walked this path down, thousands of times.
When I struggle to face the changes in life that have happened so quickly...
When it feels like time has flown by and slipped away...
When I get sorrowful, wishing I could go back...
it is nice to focus on the things around me that never change, and have stayed the same.
I guess this is where my love of tradition is rooted.
We can always fall back on and rely on the traditions.
They follow a specific pattern.
They are everlasting.
We share them...there are tradtional commonalitites in every human experience.
Our traditions keep us grounded and connected.
It might sound a bit crazy...but, to me, traditions seem to slow everything down.
To defy the fast pace of life that seems to be racing away.
May we always honour and protect our most cherished personal histories
and traditions!
I wish each of you Godt nytt år!
And finally....
It is the last day to register for the second session of the Romjul Holiday MAL.

My deepest gratitude to each and every person that has supported me with my fundraising goal during this month.
Thank you for understanding my passion for this important work - which not only touches the people within our beautiful city....but people from all over the world!
Indeed!
Through our making, together, will lift up and light the way for so many people!
People we will never see or know personally.
But we will change the world by our gifts and as they say, we rise by lifting others!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Warmest regards from the farm,

Hi, Patricia….I just registered and made my donation, but once again our PayPal account will show up as my husband ‘s name and email rather than mine.

BRRR! That's all I can say about that photo. Well... and it's beautiful! I love tradition and history as well and am enjoying learning about Norway. In all the years we lived in Germany, I can not believe we did not visit that beautiful Country. I feel your heart as one of my sons left for three years in Japan last February. I can't believe it's been almost a year, but it was a challenging Christmas without him here with us. Enjoying the get togethers and the content and grateful as it's quite lonely here now that my husband has returned to work in West Texas and life returns to a quiet normal.

Thank you for sharing your reflections, Patricia…it is a time of year to both look back and to look forward, isn’t it? I’ve been doing the same…so many emotions! But, filled with gratitude and hope.🧡 Thank you for the wonderful MALs this season and for sharing your charity…such a worthy cause.
I haven’t been able to do all that you’ve shared, but I plan to…I enjoy learning the history and culture of the Selbu region.
